One person suffering from moderate injuries was hoisted by a helicopter after authorities rescued the victim from an inaccessible area near Rancho Mirage, authorities said Sunday.
The rescue occurred around 11:45 a.m. Sunday southeast of Rancho Mirage, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance after the helicopter landed in a nearby landing zone, officials said.
