A motorist fatally injured when his car slammed into a parked tractor-trailer in Perris was identified Tuesday as a 19-year-old resident of the city.

Adrian Quiroz was killed shortly before 7 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Ellis and Redlands avenues, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim was driving eastbound on Ellis Avenue at an unconfirmed speed when he apparently lost control and crashed into the semi, parked on the side of the street, Sgt. Jeremy Bracey said.

Paramedics reached the location minutes later and pronounced Quiroz dead at the scene.

Bracey said the truck driver was in the cab of his big rig when the trailer was hit, but was not injured.

An autopsy was pending on Quiroz.

Anyone with information on the crash was asked to call the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951-210-1000.
