A fire on the roof of a two-story residential building was knocked down in the Mid-Wilshire area Wednesday.
Heavy smoke and fire was reported from one corner of the attic vent of the duplex apartment in the 700 block of South Detroit Street, by Wilshire Boulevard, just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
More than 40 firefighters knocked down the blaze in under 30 minutes, with no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
