A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a gray Volkswagen Friday in Compton.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at 12:43 a.m. to Rosecrans and Aprilia avenues, where they found the victim and the vehicle in the truck lane on Rosecrans, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Garcia said.
The name, age and gender of the pedestrian were not immediately known.
