At least one person was killed in Westminster where a white SUV overturned and slammed into a guardrail on state Route 22, California Highway Patrol officials said Tuesday.
CHP officers were called around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to state Route 22 and Goldenwest Street regarding a collision. Officers found the SUV on its roof with smoke coming from its engine, a CHP spokesperson said.
The victim, whose name, age and gender were not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorist was the lone occupant inside of the vehicle.
The crash closed two lanes of the 22 while the CHP investigated the cause of the crash.
