A 47-year-old man struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway connector road in Monterey Park near Alhambra was identified Thursday.
CHP units were called at 11:08 p.m. Wednesday to the eastbound San Bernardino Freeway and the connector road to the Long Beach (710) Freeway where they learned the victim had been walking in a construction zone in the middle lanes of the freeway connector and was struck by a dark colored vehicle, CHP Officer Megan Curtis told City News Service.
According to the CHP, the victim was struck by multiple vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner later identified the victim as Manuel Gonzalez.
