A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway connector road Thursday evening in Monterey Park near Alhambra and the California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision Thursday.
CHP units were called at 11:08 p.m. Wednesday to the eastbound San Bernardino Freeway and the connector road to the Long Beach (710) Freeway where they learned the victim had been walking in a construction zone in the middles lanes of the freeway connector and was struck by a dark colored vehicle, CHP Officer Megan Curtis told City News Service.
According to the CHP, the victim, whose age, gender and name was not immediately known, was struck by multiple vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision closed three lanes of the connector lanes between the freeways.
