Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters seized control of a fire at a residential structure burning in two units of a building in Lincoln Heights Tuesday.

Fire crews were called at 4:15 a.m. to 2715 N. Broadway between Workman and Sichel streets, where they learned the flames had extended through the walls into the attic of one units, said LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

Stewart said it took 42 firefighters 43 minutes to extinguish the flames.
