A man in his 50s was fatally shot Tuesday near North Hollywood Park, authorities said.
Officers responded near the intersection of Tujunga Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday to reports of shots fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Paramedics arrived at the location to administer life-saving measures but pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Police said the suspect was described as a man between 30 and 40 years old who fled the scene before officers arrived. He was last seen on foot, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, with a shopping cart and a white pit bull, police said.
Two other people were taken into custody, possibly in connection with the shooting, and detectives continued investigating Tuesday afternoon, police said.
