A brief police pursuit ended when a police vehicle crashed into a vehicle injuring three women in the Vermont Square area of South Los Angeles Saturday.
The pursuit started at 7:43 p.m. Saturday and ended a minute later at Vermont Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Los Angeles Police Department Officer J. Chaves told City News Service.
The officers were chasing a motorist whom they believed might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Chaves said.
The injured women were conscious and breathing following the crash, he said. An ambulance was requested to care for them although Chaves did not know whether any or all of the women were taken to a hospital.
Whether the officer or officers in the police vehicle were injured was not available.
Police did not say whether the women were the suspects being pursued or bystanders.
