A wrong-way driver died Monday after crashing head-on into another vehicle in Irvine.
The collision occurred around 1:35 a.m. on Jamboree Road, south of Warner Avenue, police said.
A man behind the wheel of a Hyundai Elantra was driving south in the northbound lanes of Jamboree when he slammed head-on into another vehicle, police said. He was identified as 29-year-old Joshua Kevin Soto of La Habra, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Department.
Soto was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died, police said. The other driver was not injured.
