A man in his 60s walking in a marked crosswalk in Tarzana was struck by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run collision and critically injured Tuesday.
Officers responded to the intersection of Reseda Boulevard and Clark Street around 9:25 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police determined after investigating that a black Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on Reseda Boulevard then turned left onto Clark Street and hit the man. The driver did not stop to render aid.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location and took the victim to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
According to police, the suspected hit-and-run driver is described as a man last seen wearing a baseball cap, a blue jacket and dark-colored pants.
The city is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
“Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the police department said in a statement.
