A man who was fatally shot in front of a residence by several assailants in Boyle Heights was identified by county authorities Thursday.

Manuel Jaramillo, 37, was identified as the victim of the shooting by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office.

Los Angeles Police Department officers from the department’s Hollenbeck Division responded at 10:44 p.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of North Matthews Street and Pennsylvania Avenue regarding reports of a shots fired call. When they arrived, officers learned the victim was standing outside the residence when he was approached by multiple masked assailants, who opened fire on the victim and left the scene, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

No suspects in the shooting have been identified.
