A 30-year-old man made his first appearance Friday in court on charges of kidnapping and raping an teenage girl in Irvine.

Bill Lamar Johnson was charged Thursday with kidnapping to commit rape, rape and forcible oral copulation of a minor 14 or older, all felonies.

Johnson did not enter a plea at his arraignment in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana. The arraignment was rescheduled for March 7 in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.

The case started June 24 with a report to Irvine police of a nude victim running through a shopping center about 2 a.m., Irvine Police Department Detective Braden Marks said in court papers. The victim’s name was omitted.

Marks said officers found the girl, who had been picked up on Figueroa Street in Los Angeles and taken to Irvine, where Johnson allegedly assaulted her.

Johnson allegedly told her while attacking her he was “her pimp,” Marks said.
