Two vehicles were spotted in the storm-filled Los Angeles River in Paramount Friday and swiftwater rescue teams were deployed to make sure no one was trapped inside.
The call came in to the Los Angeles County Fire Department at 9:40 a.m. at East Alondra Boulevard near the river, department spokeswoman Kaitlyn Aldana told City News Service.
Swiftwater teams reached the vehicles and checked for patients, Aldana said. They found none.
There was no indication how the vehicles wound up in the river nor whether they had been occupied when they went in, she said.
