A 32-year-old man was shot to death and another man was wounded in a gang-related shooting in Long Beach, authorities said Monday.

Officers responding at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday to a “shots call” in the 1700 block of Long Beach Boulevard located evidence that a shooting had occurred, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

They were then notified that two men suffering from gunshot wounds had been dropped off at a local hospital, according to a police statement.

One of the victims, identified as Edgar Ortiz-Escamilla of Long Beach, later died from his injuries, police said. The second victim had stable vital signs.

Police urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to call them at 562-570-7244. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
