Police Wednesday are investigating a two-vehicle collision in Sunland that left a 60-year-old woman dead and two others injured.

Firefighters responded to the 8200 block of Foothill Boulevard, near McVine Avenue and the Haines Canyon Channel, around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday following reports of a severe traffic collision, where a victim had to be freed from one of the vehicles involved, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim, who was freed from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.

A 60-year-old man was critically injured and a 35-year-old woman was reported to be in fair condition and were taken to hospitals.

It was unclear what led up to the collision.
