A suspect was still at large Saturday after a shootout involving Redondo Beach police officers in Hawthorne.
The shooting occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 12800 block of Roselle Avenue in Hawthorne, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was handling media inquiries into the incident but did not provide further information.
The location is near Hawthorne Memorial Park on El Segundo Boulevard and Prairie Avenue.
The suspect exchanged gunfire with officers before running into a nearby neighborhood, CBS2 reported.
Officers from the Gardena and Redondo Beach police departments joined Hawthorne police in the search for the suspect and a perimeter was established near a mini-mart at 12845 Prairie Ave.
