A man accused of pointing a handgun at a woman during a road rage incident was arrested Tuesday along with his girlfriend after authorities searched their Palmdale home.

Detectives from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station executed a search warrant Tuesday morning in the 37500 block of Sparrow Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators said they seized multiple firearms, including assault weapons with modified accessories, the handgun allegedly used in the road rage incident, high-capacity magazines, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, body armor, narcotics and a stolen Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Sheriff’s officials said a homemade explosive device was also found at the scene, prompting the Arson Explosives Detail to respond and safely remove it after assessing the threat.

“Prior to the service of the search warrant, the primary suspect and a female he identified as his girlfriend were detained as they left the residence,” sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

Both suspects were arrested and booked on suspicion of multiple felony weapons violations, sheriff’s officials said. The male suspect also faces additional charges for stolen property possession and possession of an explosive device.

Authorities did not specify when the alleged road rage incident occurred.
