Firefighters knocked down a fire Sunday on the second floor of an apartment and extended into the attic.

Around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, heavy smoke was reported emerging from the two-story structure in the 6300 block of South Eighth Avenue, near West 63rd Street in Hyde Park, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

In under 25 minutes, fire crews were able to contain the fire while preventing water damage to the first floor, the LAFD stated.

No injuries were reported.
