Fire damaged a two-story apartment building on the 100 block of South Commonwealth Avenue in Westlake, but no injuries were reported, authorities said Sunday.
The fire was reported at 12:10 a.m. and it took 100 firefighters 39 minutes to extinguish the flames, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
Firefighters remained at the scene overnight to monitor hotspots.
Crews from the city Department of Building and Safety and various utility companies were set to evaluate the damage.
