A 14-year-old boy who was fatally shot in an unincorporated area between Gardena and Compton was identified Monday.
Deputies were called at 11:58 p.m. Friday to the 13100 block of Jarvis Avenue, between Main and San Pedro streets, in Willowbrook.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said homicide Lt. Steven De Jong.
The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner identified him Monday as Elijah Davenport.
