A man killed in a hit-and-run crash near the Glendale Junction, west of Lincoln Heights, was publicly identified Sunday.
Juan Amaya, 46, died from traumatic injuries in an accident, the Medical Examiner’s office said.
The crash occurred at 12:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Avenue 19 and Humboldt Street, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman told City News Service.
Witnesses told police the pedestrian was crossing Avenue 19 when the vehicle struck him and drove away from the scene, without stopping to render aid.
Amaya was pronounced dead at the scene.
