A 3-year-old girl who died in a residential neighborhood of Lancaster was identified Monday.
The death was reported about 7:20 a.m. Saturday as a “child not breathing” in the 44700 block of Stanridge Avenue at Lancaster Boulevard, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department statement.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics pronounced the girl dead at the scene, sheriff’s officials said.
She was identified by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Elizabeth Ghoston, ruling her cause of death as airway obstruction.
A video from the scene showed sheriff’s investigators focusing their attention on a gray single-story house with a stroller in the open garage and children’s toys nearby.
