Police Wednesday are searching for a suspect who allegedly stabbed a passenger on a Metro B Line Universal City/ Studio City Station train in Studio City and left the scene.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the station at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday near Lankershim Boulevard where they learned the suspect stabbed the passenger after an altercation on the train, NBC 4 reported.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the station and took the victim to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen walking toward Ventura and Lankershim boulevards.

NBC 4 reported the Metro station was closed for several hours while police investigated the stabbing and reopened after 11:01pm Wednesday.

“Metro extends its wishes for a quick recovery to the victim and thanks [to] the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments for their prompt response,” Metro Communications Director Dave Sotero told City New Service.

The LAPD’s Transit Division is investigating the stabbing.
