A pedestrian was fatally struck by a sedan in East Hemet Wednesday, leading to a road closure as authorities investigated, authorities said.
The collision was reported at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday at Johnston Avenue and Stanford Street, according to California Highway Patrol records.
Riverside County sheriff’s officials shut down both sides of one of the roadways following the crash.
A coroner was called to the scene about 30 minutes later, and CHP records indicate one of the involved parties may qualify for cite and release rather than arrest.
