A 15-year-old boy was taken to a hospital Wednesday after being shot in the Florence neighborhood of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The shooting was reported around noon Wednesday in the 300 block of East 79th Street, near the intersection with San Pedro Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Authorities said the victim was expected to survive.
The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing a white tank top, fled the scene on foot, authorities said.
The motive for the shooting was unclear.
