A 23-year-old man killed in a collision with another vehicle in Sun Valley was identified Thursday.
The collision was reported at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 6700 block of Lankershim Boulevard, north of the Golden State (5) Freeway. Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the scene, where they learned the victim was traveling north on Lankershim Boulevard when he collided with a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old driver traveling south on Lankershim Boulevard, LAPD Officer Charles Miller told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
He was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Javier Gutierrez.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
