Police in Pomona Friday are investigating a collision that left a female pedestrian dead.
Officers from the Pomona Police Department were called to the area of Towne Avenue and Towne Park Circle at 10:04 p.m. Thursday regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision. When they arrived at the scene, officers found the pedestrian in the roadway suffering from severe injuries, the police department said. First responders performed life-saving measures on the victim, but she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. The cause of the collision is unknown at this time.
The crash is being investigated by the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
