California Highway Patrol officers discovered a dead body near the Artesia (91) Freeway in Carson Saturday and an investigation was underway.
CHP officers were contacted about the body and arrived at the westbound freeway and the Avalon Boulevard exit at 4:13 a.m. Saturday, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The man was identified as 39-year-old John Nabours, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. His cause of death was not immediately released, and his city of residence was not provided.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the westbound 91 Freeway at Avalon, as well as the HOV lane and one lane of the eastbound freeway while officers investigated.
