A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run collision Saturday in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to South Vermont Avenue and West 109th Place at 12:12 a.m. regarding a collision with a pedestrian, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The pedestrian — whose name, age and gender were not immediately known — was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver fled without stopping to render aid, according to reports from the scene.
The cause of the collision was under investigation.
