A fire that erupted in a Mead Valley home Monday caused significant damage but no injuries before it was knocked down.
The blaze was reported shortly before 3 p.m. in the 22700 block of Cajalco Road, near Decker Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered heavy smoke and flames around the attic of the single-story residence.
Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading beyond the structure, and by 4 p.m., the blaze was completely contained, according to reports from the scene.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was displaced.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
