The sheriff’s department Monday sought the public’s help in identifying suspects who fatally shot a 42-year-old man in the Westmont area five years ago.
Corey Picket was standing outside a home in the 1000 block of West 94th Street about 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, along with a friend and a family member when two suspects, described only as males, exited the passenger side of a sedan and opened fire.
Picket was fatally wounded and another man was injured, according to the sheriff’s department.
The suspects got back into the car and fled east on 94th street toward Vermont Avenue.
Anyone with information was asked to call homicide detectives at 323-890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
