A man and a woman were arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that began in West Covina and ended in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said Tuesday.

The pursuit began shortly before 11 p.m. Monday when California Highway Patrol officers observed a pickup speeding in West Covina.

The pursuit continued on both the San Bernardino (10) Freeway and the Pomona (60) Freeway before the driver drove into downtown and entered a parking structure at Grand Avenue and Eighth Street. The CHP joined officers from the Los Angeles Police Department and created a perimeter around the structure.

The duo were arrested at the end of the pursuit, according to a West Covina Police Department watch commander, who had no other immediate information.
