A 46-year-old woman experiencing homelessness who was discovered unresponsive and later pronounced dead near the near the Atlantic Boulevard on-ramp to the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway on the East Los Angeles-Monterey Park border was identified Tuesday.
Personnel with the Monterey Park Police Department contacted the California Highway Patrol around 5:45 p.m. Monday regarding an investigation involving an unresponsive woman, according to CHP spokesman Officer Alec Pereyda.
Paramedics arrived at the location to examine the woman and pronounced her dead at the scene.
She was later identified by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Argentina Garcia.
It was unclear if the woman’s death was related to a collision.
