Culver City officials Friday took the wraps off of a new emergency warning system being installed in police vehicles to ensure people get the message when they have to evacuate an area.

It is called the Hi-Lo Audible Warning System, which emits high and low tones to signify immediate action is required and that it is time to go, Culver City officials said.

“This system enhances the ability to communicate critical information quickly and effectively,” Culver City Fire Chief Ken Powell said. “The Hi-Lo Audible Warning System will serve as a crucial resource during evacuations, helping to ensure that our residents take the necessary actions to protect themselves and their families.”

“Implementing the Hi-Lo Audible Warning System is just one of many steps we are taking to enhance our emergency preparedness,” said Culver City Police Chief Jason Sims. “We will continue to assess and innovate our methods to keep Culver City safe and ready for any emergencies we may face together.”
