Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters extinguished a fire Friday that tore through a commercial building in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

Fire crews were called at 12:58 a.m. Friday to 11878 S. Main St. and 118th Place where they found flames shooting through the roof, said LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

It took 42 firefighters 42 minutes to knock down the flames.

No firefighters were injured.
