A knife-wielding woman shot by Orange County sheriff’s deputies in Dana Point early Friday morning was fighting for her life in a hospital.
A caller to sheriff’s dispatchers reported that a woman was screaming near Corniche Drive and Camino del Avion, according to Orange County Sheriff’s deputies.
When deputies responded at 4:10 a.m. Friday to the condo, they were met by the woman, who was holding a knife, deputies said. She was shot by one of the deputies and was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
Deputies had been called to the condo multiple times over the past few months for similar disturbances, according to the department.
