A woman was killed Sunday when a vehicle overturned down an embankment of the Artesia (91) Freeway in Cerritos.
The crash occurred at 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the freeway transition road connecting the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway to the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The woman was identified as 24-year-old Alyssa Simmons, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. Her city of residence was not provided.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
