Police Tuesday are continuing their investigation of a shooting in the Lindbergh neighborhood of Long Beach that left one man wounded.

Long Beach Police Department officers responded at 7 p.m. Sunday to a hospital regarding a shooting victim. When they arrived, the officers learned the victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body, according to police.

The victim told police he was in the area of Atlantic Avenue and Market Street when he heard noises and noticed that he had been wounded. He took himself to a hospital and officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate a crime scene, police said.

Motivation for the shooting is under investigation.
