A Silver Alert was issued Wednesday for a 71-year-old man who was reported missing after he was last seen in the Valley Glen neighborhood.
Ralph Elizalde was last seen at approximately 4 p.m. at Babcock Avenue and Vanowen Street, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Elizalde is Latino, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds, has gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and gray sweatpants. Authorities say Elizalde is believed to be traveling on foot.
Anyone who has seen Elizalde or knows of his whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
