Police Friday are investigating a fatal collision in Vernon where a pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 1:40 a.m. to East Vernon Avenue and South Alameda Street regarding a collision where, they found the pedestrian in the roadway, LAPD Officer Charles Miller told City New Service.
The pedestrian — whose name, age or gender was not immediately known — was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
The driver who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with police, Miller said.
