Firefighters Saturday knocked down a large rubbish fire in an alley that was exposing two apartment complexes in the Pico-Union community of Los Angeles, authorities said.
Firefighters dispatched at 6:46 a.m. to 1132 S. Arapahoe St. had the fire out within 15 minutes of their arrival, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Smoke from the fire activated a sprinkler system in one apartment.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
