Police sought the public’s assistance Thursday in locating two men suspected of stealing a bag of toys from a U-Haul truck during a Christmas giveaway in Downtown Los Angeles last year.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the men approached the vehicle on Dec. 15 between 3:00 A.M. and 7:00 A.M. in a parking lot in the 1000 block of South Hill Street, then allegedly broke the lock on the rear roll-up cargo door, stole property, rolled the door back downand fled the location.
One suspect is described as a 5-foot-6-inch Hispanic man weighing 165 pounds with black hair. He is in his 20s and was last seen wearing a gray and black sweater, a blue shirt, dark-colored pants, and a dark-colored face mask.
The other suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, weighing 150 pounds. He is between the ages of 18 and 20, has black hair, and was last seen wearing a light-colored hoodie, gray pants, black shoes, and a face mask.
Detectives have released a video clip related to the suspected theft in hopes of generating assistance from the public in identifying the two men.
