A man who was shot and killed in Lancaster was identified by county authorities Tuesday.
The victim was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office as 43-year-old Thayron Paxton.
Homicide detectives responded to the 1200 block of West Avenue I, near 13th Street West, regarding a fatal shooting that occurred around 2:35 p.m. on April 8, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Paxton was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
There was no description of a suspect, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
