Police Saturday are continuing their investigation of an altercation in Long Beach where a man was stabbed.
Officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded at 5:42 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Anaheim Street regarding a man being stabbed. When they arrived, the officers found the victim suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound to his upper body, the police department said.
The Long Beach Fire Department treated the man, who declined to be taken to a hospital, at the scene, police said.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was riding his bike when he got into a verbal dispute with two male suspects. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation and one of the suspects stabbed the man, according to police. The suspects ran away prior to the officers’ arrival.
The investigation is ongoing.
