A fire that erupted Tuesday in an Anza mobile home caused significant damage but no injuries before it was stopped.

The blaze was reported at 3 p.m. in the 53600 block of Highway 371, east of Lake Riverside, near the Cahuilla Indian Reservation, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered heavy smoke and flames emanating from the double-wide.

Northwest winds were blowing between 15 and 20 mph, but the flames did not spread into surrounding vegetation, according to reports from the scene.

As of 3:30 p.m., the fire was under control.

It was not immediately known whether anyone resided in the mobile home.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
