A two-car collision at a Wildomar intersection Tuesday left both motorists injured, one fatally.

The crash was reported at 6:25 a.m. at Bundy Canyon Road and Harvest Way, on the eastern edge of the city, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Brad Foster said that the two vehicles impacted when one of them pulled onto Bundy Canyon. The only traffic control device at the intersection is a stop sign on Harvest. No other details were available.

County fire personnel reached the location minutes later and found both motorists trapped in the wreckage. There were no passengers.

The two victims were extricated a short time later and taken to nearby Inland Valley Medical Center, where one of them was pronounced dead on arrival.

The party’s identity was not disclosed.

The other driver, also not publicly identified, suffered major injuries and was listed in critical condition Tuesday afternoon, Foster said.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation. Anyone with information was asked to contact the sheriff’s Lake Elsinore station at 951-245-3000.
