Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives Wednesday are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian who struck by a motorcycle in Lancaster.
Deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station responded at 10:47 p.m. Tuesday to 10th Street West, north of Avenue L-12, where a pedestrian was walking on the roadway across 10th Street east to west outside of a marked crosswalk when a Yamaha motorcycle struck him in the No. 2 northbound lane of 10th Street, said Detective Jorge Diaz of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.
The victim suffered major trauma and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called to the scene, where they pronounced him dead.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, the sheriff’s department said.
