The second of two men killed in a head-on traffic collision in Long Beach was identified Friday by county authorities.
One of the drivers, Elmer Ramirez Sosa, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
On Wednesday, the other driver was identified as 35-year-old Salvador Medina, who was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers and paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department responded to an area near Seventh Street and Terraine Avenue at around 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Detectives later determined that a Honda Civic sedan, driven by Ramirez, was going westbound on Seventh Street at a high rate of speed moments before losing control and veering into opposite lanes of traffic, colliding head-on with a Honda Accord, driven by Medina.
